Possibly my favourite new snack – I could eat 10 of these in one go. Yes they are that good. These cheesy pepperoni pizza pinwheels are all of the best things about a pizza rolled up inside deliciously flaky puff pastry. It’s also possibly the simplest recipe on my blog, only a handful of ingredients! I promise they will not only be a huge hit with the kids but the adults as well.
I mean it when I say this recipe really is the easiest thing ever. You can even make them in advance and keep them in the fridge! Simply heat them up in the oven or the air fryer just before your guests arrive.
A tip I learnt in the process of making these, definitely cut the pastry strips before you put the toppings on. Otherwise things can get very messy! Also try and cut the pastry before it becomes too defrosted and soft. From there the process is super simple, spread on the passatta, sprinkle some cheese and oregano and layer the pepperonis. Then carefully roll each on up, it help if you wet your fingers with some water first, that way the pastry won’t stick to you. Lay them all out on a tray not too close together as they will expand, brush with a bit of egg wash, top with some more cheese and they’re ready for the oven! Take them out when they are looking delicious and golden. I like to serve mine with some extra passatta for dipping.
